Puerto Prinsesa, Palawan (2010)

Hi guys! Its September once again the start of the “BER” months. Yay! As a welcome bash, I will be starting a new series of posts in my blog covering some of my most unforgettable travel experience. I will also try to come up with a collection of memories and useful tips for sharing. I may post some trips way back, but this might take a while-need to scan oldie pictures pa. hehehe!

I got a wonderful blessing and opportunity (thank you Lord) to visit Palawan last year with my friend John Jay and his mom Tita Virgie. It took me a while to finally post these photos. I really wanted to give Majestic Palawan a well-documented write-up with all the right adjectives written for justice.

With this, I did a standard template for all travel posts. And here is my first attempt at it. Read away!

Best time to visit: Summer or anytime sunny. (One, the beach is really best experienced with the heat of the sun touching the skin. We came on a December so it’s sort of raining and gloomy the whole time. Two, there are instances, specifically on rainy seasons when the Underground River is closed for tours.

Must-see/visit: Underground River, Honda bay- Starfish and Snake Island, among others.

Best place to eat: KA LUI is definitely a winner!

Best activity: Fish-feeding and diving!

Where to shop: Rizal Avenue where all the cheap finds converge. Hahah!

Bits more:
  • Puerto Prinsesa strictly prohibits smoking and littering and they are on citizen arrest. Sorry for the smokers. But it’s super clean and smoke-free everywhere.
  • Food is really cheap in Palawan. Actually, almost everything is sooo affordable! Good for kuripot people like me! Heheh!
  • The Tourism Industry and the system for tourists are very commendable. Tour guides, divers and all tourist attendants are extra friendly and warm and well-trained.
  •  Primary mode of transportation around the city is pedicab.
  •  Bawal ang maarte (for lack of better terms). Hahaha! During day tours and few stop-over, the possibility of getting wet all over, slipping, falling, getting bruised or cut needs to be clear and welcomed with caution.  All part of lovely and memorable trip!

   Next Palawan destination, Coron!

SURPRISE!!!

Hello fellaaaas! Eeeenk! Here comes the excuse introduction from the delinquent blogger.
-----------------------------------------------
Okay, skipping the “it’s-been-such-a-long-time-since-my-last-post” classic excuse this time… (wink!)

Let me share to you a wonderful blessing the Lord gave which surprised to me today.

So, for weeks now, I have been researching, drafting, revising, submitting, re-drafting, revising, overhauling, reinventing and making so many failed attempts at writing two very important write-ups for my company due this September.

Admittedly, I have been putting quite a serious amount of thinking and effort on them and each attempt and finished draft seems to always lead me to a potential disappointment.

TOO STRAIGHTFORWARD… BORING… UNINSPIRING… WALANG IMPACT… UNATTRACTIVE. LACKS INFORMATION. CHANGE. REVISE.

For a go-getter like me, these comments are detrimental to the heart- the self-esteem to boot. But as a person, I was taught about humility and those lessons allowed me to trust that in each failed attempt, each rebuke and each disappointment encountered is a chance to learn and master the act of offering grace to others and an opportunity to grow and improve some more.

True enough, the Lord never fails us. He knows what we need even before we know it. His surprises are the most Epic (let me use this term to keep up with the fad of mainstream clichés. In bisaya, pauso words ba. Wahaha!).

Well, to my surprise, I got a text msg from our company’s President (yes, PRESIDENT) early this morning informing me of a meeting to finalize the write-ups I'm making (as mentioned above).

To make the long story short, after our meeting, not only did I get a free lunch and a rare opportunity to share thoughts with my boss, I got all my questions answered, got more points from him than what I had in mind and may bonus tips pa from the president himself!

To top my super day, I got THE ULTIMATE INSPIRATION to come up with better, more creative outputs all ready for presentation next week. Beat that!!! Yayyyy! Okay, so nasa cloud 9 ako kanina…share ko lang. hahaha!

The BEST talaga Si Lord. He grants our prayers even in unimaginable ways! Kaya even during our lowest, most desperate times, let us continue praising and glorifying Him.  Because He will never forsake us. He will never fail us. Trust and believe, in time it will be perfect. Because if it’s His will, it will be perfect. Thank you!!! I am sooo humbled by this day.

Let me end this post with the perfect verse that I believe would sum up this post which our dear Pastor Alvin also recently shared in one of his FB posts.

Psalms 37:4, "Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart."
