God's NOT Dead

A few days ago I learned about PRACTICAL ATHEISM.

Surprisingly this isn’t anything like the classical “there is no god” or “I don’t believe in the idea of a god” sort of drama we met in college Postmodern Philosophy class.

A Practical Atheist is in fact defined as someone who believes in the idea of a GOD.

Someone who acknowledges the existence of a God but lives a life as if He does not exist.

Someone who religiously worships a God but whose heart is, in truth, very far from Him.

Living as if God is Dead.

It’s funny, think about it, even Atheism didn’t get past the fangs of evolution - Atheism 2.0, bigger and waay better.

You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder. James 2:19

DO YOU BELIEVE IN A GOD?

When you’re down with illness and difficulties are you holding on to Him?

When you’re making merry of success and abundance do you rejoice in Him?

As you go about your everyday choices, as you take that step and as you utter that word, are you mindful that God’s presence is in you?

Does your understanding of a God reflect in the way you treat your family, your friends, your colleagues, strangers and others?

When you say “I am a Christian. I am a follower of Jesus” do you really mean it?

Can you honestly say you are living according to His will?

ARE YOU A PRACTICAL ATHEIST?

I don’t think so.

You know exactly who God is and you know He is not Dead.

He is certainly ALIVE.

Embrace this truth and do not let it go.

When in doubt…

Grab that BIBLE gathering dust in the shelf and start reading.

Get involved.

Research.

Study His word.

Get to know Him more, day by day, desperately and earnestly -just like that corpse you spent the whole Sem with in Anatomy Class.

They say, how well you know Jesus, is how well you live your life.

I urge you to finally and genuinely acknowledge His worthiness (not just with your lips), honor and worship Him with your life and live it exactly as you know Him.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. -Matthew 22:37

-carpe diem-
